Your Cost is a
function of our material costs, the number of pieces being
manufactured, the machinability of the material you specify
and the specified tolerances we have to
maintain.
We
do charge a $5.00 processing Fee with each
submission, primarily to prevent being swamped with
unproductive requests.
We have elected to address
the problem of cost calculation just a little differently than
other shops. There are NO
Tooling Charges and NO
Setup Fees on prototype quantities.
"Prototype" generally means 25 pieces or less.
This policy will easily save you between $150 and $400
depending on the job.
Much like the
"cleaning appointments" required these days by your local
Dentist, we feel that Tooling and Setup charges on
small orders are, for the most part, just another racket,
designed to lever as many bucks out of your pocket as
possible.
We have
also opted NOT to make you use a proprietary Cad
system... This decision will save you more than money
!!! It will also save you a great deal of time and
effort.
Online manufacturing services typically require that you specify
what machine will be used to cut each and every line. The same may
be true for circles, holes, pockets and arcs... an
extremely tedious and time consuming process.
Add to that the fact that your drawing MUST be absolutely
perfect ( Every arc, Line and intersection terminated
correctly ) or the automatic systems for calculating time,
tolerances and material costs will fail to
function. You end up with a faulty part, or no part at
all.
We feel that every order should have a real
pair of eyes on it right from the start, just to be certain
that you get what you expect. You can produce a simple
drawing, or in a pinch, even scan one drawn on a napkin and
through the miracle of human intervention, still wind up with
a part that meets the required specification.
We offer the following additional design
services:
1:
Making a CAD drawing from a Concept or Telephone discussion.
2: Making a CAD drawing from a hand or
paper drawing that you provide.
3: Making a CAD
drawing from a physical part or model that you
provide.
We will make your CAD drawings even if
we do not manufacture your parts.
These services are offered at a rate of $50/hr. If you
need to send us a physical part to draw there is NO additional
charge other than return shipping.
If the job will require more than one hour we will provide
an estimate to you before proceeding. If we decline the
work order, you will not be charged.
You assume full
responsibility for checking designs we provide for
dimensional accuracy. If you order parts based on a design we
provide, you agree to accept parts manufactured in accordance
with the design under the same conditions as if you yourself
had made the
